What is a Root Canal?
Technically speaking, a root canal is the center of a tooth root. It connects to the pulp chamber, or center of the tooth, and contains nerves, blood vessels, and ligaments. Root canal therapy removes this soft tissue from the pulp chamber and the root canals to resolve the infection and preserve the tooth’s exterior. After treatment, the tooth is usually restored with a crown. We provide root canal therapy using advanced technology for precise treatment and maximum comfort.

Root Canal Therapy Procedure
Prior to your treatment, you will be provided with a local anesthetic. We can also provide sedation for your comfort. The first step in the process is to remove the tissue from the pulp chamber and root canals by making a minor opening in the outer tissue. The pulp chamber and root canals are carefully cleaned using highly articulate rotary tools. The doctor will then disinfect the tooth before filling the root canals with a rubber-like material. After the tooth is sealed, the exterior tissue is altered to accommodate a crown.
Before your procedure, we provide a diagnosis and plan treatment using a three-dimensional cone beam scanner, which takes a digital image of your jaw and tooth roots. We then use rotary endodontic tools to remove all tissue from the pulp chamber and root canals. As opposed to traditional tools, rotary endodontic technology allows us to provide more comfortable treatment. The flexible tool is made to fit into the root canal for efficient navigation, significantly reducing treatment time.
Meanwhile, our in-house CEREC technology allows us to create a fully customized crown immediately following treatment. A digital impression of your tooth will guide automated tools in fabricating your crown from a single block of porcelain. This technology makes it possible to arrive in need of a root canal treatment and leave our office with a fully restored smile.
